Hintertux Glacier Ski Area offers the most diverse early-season glacier skiing experience in all of Europe.  Set in a spectacular area of Tyrol, the Alps of the Hohe Tauern rising to the east and the Italian border just to the south, skiing at Hintertux truly is a unique experience.  Facilities at this modern resort are second to none, offering same day ski or snowboard tuning, professionaly groomed runs, first-rate food choices, modern lifts and gondolas, and a plethora of off slope activities to keep the whole family entertained. 

At this time of the year (early Nov), only the upper slopes on the mountain will be open.  These runs, however, account for all skill levels and even include one of the biggest and best ski and snowboard terrain parks in Austria.  If you haven't been to Hintertux, this is a 'must do' trip!  Speaking from personal experience, I must say that this is one of my prefered resorts in Austria and I've never had a bad time skiing the glacier at Hintetux!
